Read the Underlying Before the Contract
Options are a wrapper around a trade idea. They are not the idea itself.
The three checks
1. Structure
Does the chart actually support the move you want?
2. Liquidity
Are the spread, volume, and open interest good enough for clean execution?
3. Timing
Does the expiration match the pace of the move you expect?
If one check fails
Do not solve a weak setup by buying a more exciting contract. Slow down and fix the trade idea first.
